TWO DAYS AND ONE NIGHT IN NORMANDY! ~ THE AMERICAN APPROACH  - 1944 ~            Monday- Friday only now through December, 2007      FROM PARIS WITH OVERNIGHTS IN BAYEUX with One Day Private Tour on the American Beaches. We will pick you up at your Paris City Center Hotel in the late afternoon and assist you to the Paris St. Lazare Rail Station where your driver will provide your roundtrip rail tickets to Baueux for the 5:08PM train, arriival. (Option: 6:29PM train from Paris arriving in Bayeux at 8:48PM) Day 1 -Upon arrival in Bayeux, our driver will meet you at the Rail Station and transfer you to your 3 Star hotel. Dinner at leisure and overnight at the Hotel. Day 2- At 9:00AM- After Breakfast (included)- Meet up your Guide and your minivan at the hotel to start your Full Day Private Your on the American Beaches. First you will drive to and visit STE MERE EGLISE, the town on which US paratroopers belonging to the 82nd Airborne were dropped on D-Day. After having seent he stained glass commenorating the 25th and 40th Anniversary of the paratroopers opearation in the 11th Century Church, you will visit the AIRBORNE TROOPS MUSEUM, before continuing to UTAH BEACH.  You will pass the first American airfield (12Jun, 1944) signed by a memorial, the C47 memorial and the ramains of a German prisoners camp. The next stop is UTAH BEACH where General T. Roosevelt Jr. landed along with General Gerow and the 4th US Division. After a review there; you make the longer trek to the Omaha Sector and LA POINTE DU HOC. The concept of scaling 110 foot high sheer cliffs is incredulous; all under German Fire!  You continue further along the Omaha Secorot  and arrive onto the OMAHA LANDING BEACH, the bloodies land that the Americans had ever known. Overlooking the sand, the AMERICAN MILITARY CEMETERY, beautifully kept, is the final hone to over nine thousand your men who lost their lives in the Battle of Normandy. After some intense relfection, you will drive to LONGUES SUR MER,a large German battery. From the German gun site, we can see appearing in the haze the tremendous size of the Artificial Harbor of ARROMANCHES; our last stop. The harbor was built in eight months in England by the British and then towed across the 100 miles of the Channel. 6:00PM - Your tour will end at the Rail Station in Bayeux where you will be able to catch the direct train back to Paris at 6:21PM, arriving in Paris at 8:51PM. WHAT IS INCLUDED: Afternoon transfer from your Paris Hotel to the Paris St. Lazare Rail Station with English Speaking assistance. Transfer in Bayeux from Rail Station to your 3 Star Hotel in Town.
