Comments on class
May be the best detailed water color course offered
around the world. The
detailed instruction over the four day period was
second to none. The
instructor (Francois Beaumont) was extremely talented
and a phenomenal
instructor that was able to bring the best in the
instructional paintings.
The instructions on painting olive trees made the
class worth it alone.
The location was extremely romantic, located in the
hart of the Bandol wine
region with flourishing plant life of all types to
paint and learn from.
Unquestionable have plans to return in the future.

Are you looking for a creative holiday activity? Join the watercolor workshop at La Cadiére d'Azur. Discover Provence by painting and drawing the beautiful landscape. The program, offered in French, English or German will utilize demonstrations of difference watercolor techniques (wet in wet, drybrush, glazes, etc.) Explanation of composition, mixing of colors all in a wonderfully friendly relaxed atmosphere for beginners and advanced painters alike.
Program includes:
Typical weekly program:
Sunday: Evening Welcome apéritif. Meeting of workshop members (group limited to 8 persons) and instructor.
Monday: Morning presentation and painting demonstration: "Mas Provencal". Afternoon: Painting on location, pencil and watercolor sketching.
Tuesday: Morning studio painting session based on Monday sketches. In the afternoon...an outdoor painting session near La Cadiére ..." Paysage (Olivers)"
Wednesday: Morning will take in "Special efforts for the watercolor painter"; explanation and demonstrations. In the afternoon, an excursion to the port of La Madrague: "Bargues de Pecheurs"
Thursday: Morning excursion into the famous Bandol vineyards. Subject: "Cabanon et Vignes". In the Afternoon: "Nature Morte...Still Life painting session (studio or garden...depending on lighting and weather. This evening a Painting Exhibition in Hotel Bérard and farewell party.

The Workshop Includes 4 Days of Instruction Morning (10:00AM- 12:00N) and Afternoon (2:00PM-4:00PM) sessions. Program may well vary from sample above, even at the last moment, and group size definitely varies depending on each planned session. The Hostellerie Bérard may elect not to offer one of the scheduled sessions as listed below and/or to modify its contents. Paris Plus only 'sells-into' this program in that the Hostellerie Berard solely creates and administers this program. It is possible for free time to use your car to explore the nearby countryside & villages!
